Meryl Streep is an American actress who has worked in theater, television and film. She was born in Summit, New Jersey on June 22, 1949. She made her film debut with the movie "Julia" in the year 1977. Her successful movies include "The Deer Hunter" in 1978 and "Kramer vs. Kramer" in 1979, "Sophie's Choice" in 1982, etc. She won Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie "Sophie's Choice" in 1982. For the movie "A Cry in the Dark" she won Best Actress Award in Cannes Film Festival. For the movie "The Devil Wears Prada" in the year 2006, she won Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
